Families who adopt interracially are confronted with a unique set of issues and concerns that require careful thought, preparation and ongoing education. Some of the issues that might arise include: selecting a school and community that embraces differences, educating extended family members, responding to intrusive questions, and preparing your child to confront racism. This seminar is designed to educate prospective and current foster and adoptive parents about the important issues involved in interracial adoption. The more prepared you are, the better equipped your child will be!
